Dr. Ryoichi Ohno (founder) and his team of experts saw great potential for CdTe based single crystal radiation sensors and believed that they would have significant application in the mass market. Based on the initial research and development results, they moved to Okinawa in 2000 where the Acrorad factory was built. Several extensions later, our state-of-the-art facility continues to grow the highest quality CdTe crystals at ever increasing quantities. These single crystals are then processed into wafers and ultimately structured with diverse metal layers to create sensors according to our customer’s requirements. Acrorad sensors can be found in a wide range of applications ranging from your local hospital all the way to space exploration.
We at Acrorad will continue to optimize our manufacturing processes, improve the product quality, and explore new materials so that our technology can be used in more fields. Together with our customers, we will make a positive impact on society by contributing to better diagnosis in the medical field, contributing to high efficiency, precision, and safety in the industrial field, and opening new doors within basic research.
